HOURS: Varies depending on buidling 

             Galesburg-Augusta Primary School 7:40 AM - 3:05 PM

             Galesburg-Augusta Middle School 8:04 AM - 3:37PM

             Galesburg- Augusta High School 7:20 AM - 2:43 PM

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit required
• Previous experience working with youth in an educational setting preferred
• Ability to manage student behavior in a fair and respectful manner
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Classroom Instruction: 

• Deliver lesson plans provided by the regular teacher
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a productive learning environment
• Take attendance and report any issues or incidents to building leadership
• Leave notes or feedback for the returning teacher

On-Call Readiness

• Be available on-site or within a short call window each school day.

• Be prepared to fill in for any teacher or support role as needed (sometimes with short notice).

• Maintain flexibility across grade levels and subjects.

Academic Support ( when not subbing)

• Provide small group or one-on-one support to students.

• Assist in classrooms as a co-teacher, aide, or interventionist.

• Supervise students during non-instructional times (e.g., lunch, recess, hallway transitions).

Administrative/Clerical Support

• Assist with copying, organizing materials, or preparing classroom resources.

• Support front office staff with light duties (e.g., answering phones, escorting students).

School Community Engagement

• Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and legal requirments
• Help enforce school rules and support positive behavior initiatives
• Build rapport with students and staff
