Summary:
The Work-Based Learning Coordinator will develop, organize and coordinate work-based learning education, career development and business and industry partnerships. The Work-Based Learning Coordinator- SE embraces a continuous improvement mindset to develop and coordinate
work-based learning education, career development, and business industry partnerships that provide meaningful employment skill development access to all students with disabilities. Promotes a culture of inclusivity and innovation in our community and school program through collaboration and reflective practice that fosters skill development and support structures that lead to student success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and coordinates work-based learning opportunities for transition students in ESAs High Schools
Locates and evaluates prospective job shadow, internship and training sites
Oversees, monitors, records and evaluates work-based learning education
Coordinates job coach schedules and supports with job coach training and individual coaching
Participates in professional development activities (workshops, meetings, seminars, memberships in organizations) to keep abreast of current changes affecting youth labor laws
Coordinates school and work schedules with student-learners, as well as faculty and training sponsors.
Ensures that an equity focus is vital part of work-based learning experiences and implementation
Provides and expands support for career partnerships, including local businesses, post-secondary partners, community-based organizations, afterschool providers, city and county municipalities, students, teachers and parents
Cultivates business and industry partnerships by building sustainable relationships with local employers
Displays an understanding of 21st Century Skills and the ability to teach those skills
Expands and improves the effectiveness and use of related software throughout the county
Exemplifies strong social-emotional learning personal skills
Stay abreast of recent trends in career development
Compiles and studies occupational, educational, and economic information to aid students in making and carrying out career
and technical educational objectives
Accurate completion of local and state required forms and reports
Assist with monitoring student employability skills
Assist with career planning and/or participation of events
Attend IEP’s as appropriate, consult with job coaches and teachers on student concerns/progress
Collaborates with Work-Based Learning team to support projects and initiatives
Ensure services are conducted in adherence to core values and anti-bullying, anti-bias, and anti-racism principles

Education and/or Experience:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, License, Registration:
Experience working with students, business/industry and labor groups or other organizations preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Shares supervision responsibilities for work-based learning job coaches; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; responsibilities include interviewing, recommending the hiring, training students/employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
